Never Buy from Gearbest!

And yet another one. 🙁🙄

The more these new members join touting how great Gearbest is the worse it looks for Gearbest. Coercing/bribing/incentivizing/paying people to tout your 'greatness' does just the opposite. At this point there is no way I would consider Gearbest as a source for anything I might purchase.

It's only been two years from Gearbest was founded in 2014, and we have become a website that has 64.6 million monthly clicks. It definitely can't achieved by buying fake accounts or positive comments. Yes, we have some issues like other cross-border online retailers, such as products, delivery, payment, and site experience, etc. Although we are working hard to make improvements, we are not perfect yet. We still need to spare no efforts to fulfill these goals. And this is the reason why I, the representative of Gearbest, am here. I confirm that we do make wrong description of this action camera. It was carry in 2015 and the colleague who put it on our site is no longer in charge of it, so I ask other colleague to edit the description. However, we do carry the geniune Innovv C3 in our site. Thanks for your correction.

Gearbest is the best online shop I've ever seen... probably not. Well I can't really tell since I've never bought anything there but I am thinking about ordering a spare phone from their EU warehouse. I think I may have some feedback on the random people posting here, myself included, if you do a google search for "gearbest eu warehouse taxes" this thread is the 5th one listed. This is how I came accross this thread anyways.

Sorry for the random question, but do these guys actually ship from the EU Warehouse (if listed) or not ? And do we have to pay for shipping in the EU, cause it's not very clear ? I'm looking at purchasing a cheap phone (50$) and want to be sure it doesn't goes through customs.

Welcome to DCT. They do ship some of their product range from their EU Warehouse. But if the phone develops a fault, you have to return it to an address in China. At your expense. Which is too expensive to be worthwhile.

So you're gambling $50 on the phone being fault-free. If it is you win, if not you lose. But $50 is cheap for a smartphone. Good luck.
 
@russ331 thanks for the response, on a closer inspection I've noticed the shipping cost was not displayed unless I signed in with paypal. Now the price has gone up from 50$ to 65$, go figure...
 
I've subscribed to this thread for the feedback it's marvelous. Genuinely marvelous.

Also @GearBest now your UK warehouse has been open for almost a year I'm assuming you are paying the correct VAT, taxes and whatnot in the UK? If you ship more than 30,000gbp to another eu country from within the eu you will also need to pay VAT and taxes in that country...which I assume you do?

But it does not explain why, all of a sudden and at essentially the same time, all those folks decided to create an account to post 1 time about something unrelated to dash cams. Still very suspicious...

Hi, Zap most of our products are free shipping worldwide. Maybe you miss the promotion price of that smartphone.

Hi @JooVuu we usually don't need to pay VAT, and taxes will depend on the UK local tariff threshold. If it's over their local tariff threshold, we need to pay taxes; if not, we don't.
 
Maybe gearbest make some mistake, but they allways help and make to do the best services. They given back your money, or resent your order.
Dont forget - the people who works in this shop - are humans ! Maybe you must ask him , tell him about your problem like humans ?????
I buy and I will buy products from this shop!!!

Marvelous. So what's your VAT number? You sadly have to ALWAYS pay VAT when you import goods into the UK. For me it makes no difference where I pay the VAT. I always fully declare the price on import....what about you?

Couldn't agree more, this looks like foul play. I will hang on a bit longer, and probably get a dash cam for my car someday based on your recommendations... ha ha!

Your website doesn't show the price of the phone plus shipping, when EU warehouse is selected, only after I've entered my paypal info on it. Shows low prices only to find out they're higher because of "only" expedited shipping being available for the EU...

If you want some interesting reading do a Google search using "Gearbest reviews". DCT is not the only site that doesn't think very highly of them.

try finding someone to review their warranty issues, that's far more revealing, yes goods get delivered, that has never been a question and needs no review
